Bone Hag  Fiber Art Sculpture

The Bone Hag whispers to the bones of the dead, be they animal or human.  She is both solid and soft, much like bone.  She wears a necklace of pyrite, which supports her solid empowerment and brings clarity to the whispers of those with whom she speaks.  She holds, in her embrace, a bone - of course!   Her vest is made from both cotton and mohair, reminding those whom engage with her that despite her slightly eerie appearance, she is quite soft, if you approach her in the right way.

The Bone Hag was created with a combination of knitting and crochet.  She is adorned with golden silk threads from recycled sari fibers.  Her vest is crocheted from a thick and thin ecru colored cotton yarn and soft rose colored mohair blend.  She wears a pyrite stone around her neck that is hung by golden silk yarn. On the back of her lower half is a sun that serves to cover up the front stitched spiral and french knots and also to serve as a pocket for treasures.  The bone she carries is wrapped with the same rose mohair and prior to it becoming the Bone Hag's staff, it was part of an active osteomancy collection for "bone throwing divination."

She is 22" tall from hair tip to tail.

She hung by a simple wool yarn.

She was created by hand on the edge of the Maine woodlands.
